S'COOL Factory: Looking for tomorrow's talent!
Germany rides more bikes!
In fact, Corona has given the bicycle industry a real boost - at least as far as the private sector is concerned. But the increasing enthusiasm in everyday life does not seem to have reached professional cycling yet. The S'COOL Factory program is intended to make a decisive contribution to providing relief here.
Cycling – quo vadis?
At least the bicycle industry has been anything but damaged by the pandemic. Around one million more bicycles than in the previous year – an increase of around 35 percent – were sold in 2020. And this year's IAA Mobility also showed that the bicycle has now established itself as a real alternative to the car when it comes to mobility in everyday life.
However, the situation is different in professional cycling. A never-ending World Cup lull for the German national team and a lack of talented young talent are currently causing German cycling great difficulty in positioning itself at the top of the international rankings.
There is a shortage of young cycling talent
Professional cycling currently does not seem to have the power to attract young talent. It seems to be less popular than at the time when “big names” like Jan Ullrich, who was the first and so far only German to win the Tour de France in 1997, or Erik Zabel, who was brilliant with numerous victories, ensured that young cycling enthusiasts joined the clubs to emulate their role models. The outstanding achievements of these professional cyclists led to the professional athletes being celebrated like stars and cycling becoming very popular. This only subsided when the widespread doping scandals dampened interest.
Getting children excited about cycling: The S'COOL Factory Team
In order to promote professional cycling again, youth support must begin at an early stage. True to the motto: Talented children are the winners of tomorrow!
As a children's and youth bike manufacturer, coolmobility GmbH clearly sees itself as having a shared responsibility to start early support for children and young people and to actively support them on their path to cycling.
For this reason the S'COOL Factory program was created https://www.scool.de/factory-team/ brought to life.
The goal: to challenge and support young, talented cyclists between the ages of 6 and 12 with targeted training. In addition to individual scouting and targeted training sessions, participants receive direct feedback from their trainer Fabian, an experienced cyclist. In addition, participants can look forward to joint activities, training camps, competitions and championships.
The best thing: Participation in the S'COOL Factory program is free.
